The Oboz Katabatic LT GTX Low Wide Shoe cuts the ankle height off the Katabatic LT platform for a quicker, less bulky step without losing what makes the boot version work. A Rock Plate under the KINERTIA Energy midsole still stops sharp trail rock from working through, and a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane keeps water out through stream crossings and wet grass. Recycled polyester mesh in the upper keeps the whole shoe light for fast packing days when every ounce on foot adds up. What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"Dropping to the low-cut version let me move through technical sections faster since my ankles weren't fighting extra material with every step, and I never felt the Rock Plate compromise on sharp scree the way I worried it might in a lower-profile shoe."
