Underwood Ammo Handgun Ammunition Features Underwood Ammo builds the XTP line around Hornady s eXtreme Terminal Performance bullet a design engineered for deep terminal penetration alongside great accuracy and controlled consistent expansion on impact. In this .44 Magnum loading the 300 grain jacketed hollow point leaves the muzzle at 1300 feet per second and carries 1126 foot pounds of energy downrange giving it real stopping power for both hunting and personal defense applications. The bullet s sectional density of roughly 0.233 and a ballistic coefficient of 0.206 combine to keep the projectile stable in flight while still delivering the terminal performance Underwood is known for. This is a supersonic load so shooters can expect the sharp report that comes with that velocity. Nickel-plated brass casings improve feeding reliability across revolver actions while resisting the tarnish and corrosion that standard brass can develop in storage or when exposed to leather moisture and other metals. Underwood formulates this load with flash suppressed powder protecting the shooter s night vision if the firearm must be used in low light defensive situations. Field tested in popular real world firearms that customers are likely to actually own this load is built to perform reliably under realistic conditions rather than just on paper. Each box holds 20 rounds and the round is rated safe for use in a suppressor equipped revolver.
