After machining the base is protected with a hard-coat anodizing process rated to 65 Rockwell giving it a finish durable enough to last the lifetime of the rifle it is mounted to. Designed and manufactured with precision to fit the Savage Axis receiver the base is held to the industry s tightest tolerances to ensure a secure repeatable fit without gaps or play. Measuring 7.40 inches in length the base provides ample mounting surface across the receiver for a wide range of ring and base combinations. Built-in 20 MOA of elevation compensates for bullet drop at extended ranges letting shooters keep their scope s internal adjustment range centered for better optical performance at distance.
