EGW Guns MOA Scope Base Features The EGW MOA Scope Base is machined from ultra-rigid 4140 carbon steel that is pre-hardened to Rc 35-35 before machining giving the base the strength to hold zero under recoil. Its full-width cross-slots are gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specs within plus or minus .002 so the rail accepts standard Picatinny or Weaver rings without play or misalignment. Because it is drilled to fit the factory scope mount holes on the Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard short action receiver installation does not require any drilling or tapping of the receiver itself. This 0 MOA base holds the line of sight parallel to the bore a straightforward setup for shooters who do not need built-in elevation compensation. The Heavy Duty version of this base sits .100 lower than EGW s Lightweight mounts positioning the scope closer to the bore centerline to improve accuracy and reduce the parallax shift that comes with a taller mount. A single one-piece Picatinny rail replaces separate front and rear bases simplifying scope ring placement and giving shooters room to fine-tune eye relief. The base ships with socket head Torx screws and a wrench and EGW recommends 20 inch lbs of torque with a drip of blue Loctite for a secure repeatable install. The EGW MOA Scope Base is available for sale at GrabAGun as a durable steel mounting solution for Howa 1500 and Weatherby Vanguard short action rifles.
