Atomic Ammunition Subsonic .308 Winchester 168 grain Boat Tail Hollow Point Brass Cased Rifle Ammo 100 Rounds CART-308WIN-168-SUB-100. 308 Win 168gr subsonic ammo is an alternative loading to Atomic Ammunition proven 175gr HP BT subsonic built for rifles that shoot the 168gr bullet best and for shooters who want to squeeze every last decibel out of their suppressor. The 168gr hollow point boat tail stays well below the sound barrier while preserving practical accuracy for suppressed work. The 168gr HP BT is one of the most respected match projectiles in .308 and some rifles simply prefer its slightly lighter weight over the 175gr tightening groups or smoothing out a particular barrel and twist combination. At 1050 fps it stays hearing-safe with a suppressor (roughly 120-125 dB) and the marginally lighter bullet helps shooters chasing the quietest possible report. With 411 ft-lbs of muzzle energy its an effective close-range option and a favorite among suppressed hunters who already run 168gr in their supersonic loads and want a matching subsonic. Bolt-action rifles are ideal; semi-autos may require an adjustable gas block for reliable cycling. Every cartridge is loaded with new brass cases precision-weighed Hodgdon powder charges and match-grade 168gr HP BT projectiles. Hand-inspected for consistent performance.
