American Tactical Alpha Maxx Features The American Tactical Alpha Maxx runs a 1:8 twist rate down its 16 inch barrel a rate versatile enough to stabilize a wide range of factory 5.56 and .223 Rem bullet weights without needing a specialized barrel for heavier projectiles. The threaded muzzle at 1/2x28 accepts standard AR-15 muzzle devices letting shooters add a brake flash hider or suppressor to tailor the rifle s recoil and report to their needs. A polymer receiver keeps the overall weight down to just over 7 pounds making the rifle easier to maneuver during extended range sessions or training drills. Flip-up front and rear sights provide a reliable backup sighting system that folds out of the way when a red dot or scope is mounted on the rail. A 15 inch aluminum handguard runs the length of the barrel providing ample real estate for mounting lights lasers and grips while keeping the barrel free-floated for consistent accuracy. The rifle ships with a single 60-round magazine a significant capacity increase over standard 30-round magazines that reduces how often shooters need to reload during range sessions. A two-position thumb safety keeps operation familiar to anyone experienced with the AR-15 platform easing the learning curve for new owners.
