Iver Johnson 1911A1 Features The Iver Johnson 1911A1 is built on the same single-action short-recoil operating system that has defined the 1911 platform for over a century giving shooters a familiar reliable manual of arms in a compact 5-inch barreled package. Chambered in .38 Super the pistol offers a flatter-shooting higher-velocity cartridge option than the standard .45 ACP 1911 while retaining the same magazine well dimensions and controls that 1911 shooters already know. The fixed GI-style front sight and fixed rear sight combine for a low-profile snag-free sight picture that is fast to draw and easy to maintain since there are no moving parts to work loose under recoil. This straightforward sighting system paired with the platform s proven single-action trigger makes the pistol a dependable choice for range shooting concealed carry or home defense. Constructed with a steel frame for durability and long-term strength the Iver Johnson 1911A1 wears a bright chrome finish across both the frame and slide that resists corrosion and cleans up easily after a day at the range. Black Pearl synthetic grip panels contrast sharply against the chrome finish giving the pistol a bold eye-catching two-tone appearance while standing up to sweat oil and repeated handling far better than natural pearl ever could. The pistol ships with a single 9-round magazine keeping capacity in line with traditional single-stack 1911 pistols in this caliber. At 38 ounces and an 8.5-inch overall length this all-steel 1911 has enough heft to soak up recoil making it a great fit for shooters who want classic 1911 ergonomics finished in a way that stands out at the range or in a display case.
