evo.com | Blizzard Skis > The latest iteration of the best-selling women's ski of all time is arguably the best yet. The Blizzard Black Pearl 88 Skis have held this crown for years and have no intention of letting it go anytime soon, and it's time to add this ski to your quiver if you haven't already (even if it's a quiver of one). Lighter and slightly more forgiving than Black Pearls of the past, the BP 88 now features a Trueblend All Mountain Woodcore and Women's Specific FluxForm Titanal laminate to provide the most complete ski experience ever. We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width. Sintered Graphite Base Rocker Camber Rocker Ski profile with rocker at the tip and tail, camber in the middle. Reducing the pressure on the edge at the tip and tail makes the ski even easier to handle and increases flotation on powder snow. The camber guarantees great grip on packed snow. FluxForm W.S.D. Two pieces of Titanal run the length of the ski on either side and taper toward the extremities of the ski. Combined with separate composite plate underfoot, this construction allows for precise edge grip and dampening underfoot while allowing the tips and tails to flex freely. FluxForm varies according to model, with the Sheeva 9 using more metal than the 10 or 11. Full Sidewall Construction Freeride enthusiasts looking to drive wider skis without fear of pre-release have long looked to the Marker Griffon 13 ID Ski Bindings for their fantastic performance and reliability. They return with a re-worked Inter Pivot 3 heelpiece that significantly improves step in performance, thus eliminating the one qualm that some users had. Meanwhile, the redesigned Triple Pivot Elite 3 toe comes equipped with a new metal rail to scratch off ice and snow below your boot sole. And with Sole.ID technology to accommodate almost every boot sole norm, the Marker Griffon 13 ID Ski Bindings have you covered each and every time you click in. We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width. AFD Gliding Plate All Marker bindings (except the Jester Pro) are equipped with a moveable AFD (Anti Friction Device), allowing a precise release unhindered by dirt, snow, and ice buildup. The type of AFD is matched to the skier type, ensuring perfect functionality from racing to junior and even alpine touring. Triple Pivot Elite 3 Toe Toe construction with impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5deg it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. Inter Pivot 3 Heel The newest generation Inter Pivot heel offers improved step-in performance, with a magnesium heel bracket for power transmission and energy absorption.
