What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I tossed the Dakine Packable 22L Backpack into my checked bag on a trip where I knew I would need extra carrying capacity but did not want to check a second bag, and it paid off the first day when I found a local market worth raiding. It stows flat, opens up to a genuinely useful 22 liters, and the mesh shoulder straps made wearing it fully loaded through a long afternoon of city walking surprisingly comfortable."Some of the best days happen without much planning. A spontaneous detour to a farmers market, an afternoon hike that comes together over breakfast, a travel day that turns into something more interesting than expected. The Dakine Packable 22L Backpack is built for exactly those moments, compact enough to live in your luggage or a desk drawer until you need it, and capable enough to handle a full day out once you do. The 22-liter main compartment gives you real room for layers, snacks, a water bottle, and whatever else the day calls for, with two external stretch mesh side pockets and a front pocket keeping the most-reached-for items close. A drawstring top closure keeps everything secured on the move, and mesh shoulder straps stay soft and breathable even when the pack is fully loaded and the afternoon gets warm. When the day is done, the whole thing folds into its own internal pocket and disappears back into your bag.
