Hornady American Whitetail Tipped Features Hornady American Whitetail Tipped ammunition in 6.5 Creedmoor is loaded with the 129 grain SST bullet a polymer-tipped hunting projectile with a secant ogive profile that delivers an ideal blend of ballistic efficiency and terminal performance for deer-sized game. At 2810 fps and 2261 ft-lbs of muzzle energy each round provides the flat trajectory and downrange energy retention that 6.5 Creedmoor shooters expect with the InterLock ring locking the core and jacket together to maintain bullet integrity through hide muscle and bone. Upon impact the SST s polymer tip drives into the lead core to initiate rapid yet controlled expansion creating a large wound channel and reliable penetration across a wide range of impact velocities. For whitetail deer hunters who want a high-BC proven expanding bullet load in 6.5 Creedmoor that performs equally well at conventional and extended field ranges American Whitetail Tipped is the trusted choice. Premium quality cases and primers are used throughout every lot of American Whitetail Tipped ensuring consistent ignition and feeding reliability across the full range of conditions encountered during hunting season. The 129 grain SST in 6.5 Creedmoor is an outstanding choice for hunters running bolt-action or AR-10 style semi-automatic rifles who need a load that cycles reliably and shoots accurately from cold bore. The carefully matched powder charge delivers consistent muzzle velocities from shot to shot and season to season giving hunters the confidence to hold their known zero without concern for lot variation.
