What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I switched to the 5 Furnace HS Boot because I wanted the warmth of a thicker boot without giving up the toe sensitivity I rely on for reading the board. The hidden split toe design delivers exactly that, and the graphene interior keeps my feet warm through sessions I would have cut short in anything less."The tradeoff between warmth and board feel is one of the most frustrating parts of cold water surfing, and it is exactly the problem the Billabong 5 Furnace HS Boot was designed to solve. At 5mm, the boot delivers serious insulation for genuinely cold water, but the hidden split toe construction preserves the toe sensitivity and grip that makes surfing in boots feel like surfing rather than stumbling. The graphene interior sits directly against the skin to trap and retain heat where the body needs it most, working alongside partially recycled SMART foam to deliver Billabong's best thermal performance in a boot construction that stays flexible rather than rigid. PRO STRETCH exterior fabric built from recycled polyester and elastane moves naturally with the foot through every turn and adjustment on the board, while 100% welded exterior seams seal out water completely without the raised seam lines that stitched construction leaves behind. A flex arch sole and adjustable arch strap entry round out a boot that is as practical to get into in a cold parking lot as it is comfortable to surf in for a full session.
