Geissele 9.6" MK20 Dual Tab Black Handguard Assembly 05-2554B started life as a Border Patrol Rifle requirement - Geissele needed to hit strict weight targets without giving up rigidity, and the skeletonized MK20 design is what came out of that. It's now available as a standalone option for any mil-spec build, not just the rifles it was originally built for. Machined from 7000-series aluminum and Type III hardcoat black anodized, this Geissele MK20 Rail uses a dual anti-rotation tab clamp system that locks onto Geissele's proprietary barrel nut - easy on and off, but still rated "Super Stiff" internally, which isn't a small claim given how aggressively this rail is skeletonized to cut weight. A full-length Picatinny rail runs the top for optics and backup sights, with M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock for everything else. At around 9.5 ounces installed with the barrel nut, this M-LOK Handguard lands among the lightest all-aluminum options Geissele makes - a real consideration if you're building toward a weight target on a shorter carbine, not just chasing a "lightweight" label. Key Features: 9.6" free-float length, full-length Picatinny top rail M-LOK slots at 3, 6, 9 o'clock 7000-series aluminum, skeletonized design Dual anti-rotation tab clamp system Type III hardcoat black anodized finish Installed weight approx. 9.5 oz w/ barrel nut Fits mil-spec AR-15 upper receivers Anti-rotation tabs and set screws prevent rail movement This Geissele Handguard proves a compact rail doesn't have to mean a heavy one - same skeletonized engineering as the longer MK20 lengths, just scaled for a shorter build.
