An 8-inch barrel and .300 Blackout is a combination built around one goal: maximum capability in the smallest usable footprint. The Geissele Super Duty MOD1 300 Blackout 8" DDC Pistol 08-518S delivers on that with a cold hammer forged, chrome-lined barrel and a 1:8 twist, tuned to run both supersonic and subsonic loads without the platform falling apart on one or the other — a real consideration for anyone who actually swaps between suppressed subsonic and standard supersonic ammo depending on the day. This is where the Geissele 300 Blackout chambering earns its reputation. Paired with a pistol-length gas system, the shorter barrel keeps cycling reliable even at this reduced length, which is often the first thing to go wrong on cheaper short-barreled builds. Geissele backs that up with components pulled straight from their proven lineup — a Nanoweapon Reliability Enhanced BCG for smoother, more consistent cycling, an Airborne charging handle built to resist snagging and manage gas blowback, and an ambidextrous safety selector that works the same regardless of which hand you shoot from. The MK16 M-LOK free-float handguard gives plenty of real estate for lights, grips, or other accessories without touching the barrel and throwing off accuracy. An adjustable stabilizing brace rounds out the ergonomics, and optics-ready rail surfaces mean you're not stuck running irons if you'd rather mount a red dot. As a Geissele Super Duty pistol, it accepts standard AR-15 magazines — typically up to 30 rounds, sold separately — and wears a distinctive DDC finish that matches the rest of the Super Duty lineup. For shooters who want a genuinely capable Geissele Pistol rather than a compact build that cuts corners to get there, the MOD1 300 Blackout covers a lot of ground in a small package.
