"Women's Topo Athletic® Specter 2: The Topo Athletic Specter 2 is a max-cushion neutral running shoe built for women who want a lightweight, responsive ride on daily training runs and longer efforts. With a 5 mm heel-to-toe drop and a Pebax Powered® midsole, it strikes a balance between soft underfoot feel and quick energy return - so the shoe doesn't just absorb impact, it helps push you forward. At 6.8 ounces, it's light enough to pick up the pace when you want to, without sacrificing the cushioning you need to stay comfortable mile after mile. The recycled mesh upper is foot-shaped, which means it wraps naturally around the foot rather than forcing it into a narrow box - a real advantage for neutral runners with medium to high arches who want room to move without slop. The upper stays breathable on warmer runs, and the strategically placed rubber outsole keeps traction solid without adding unnecessary weight. If you're looking for a lightweight daily trainer that can handle both easy miles and faster workouts, the Specter 2 is worth a serious look. Why Our Fit Experts Love This Shoe""I put these on for a longer run and was surprised by how lively they felt for a max-cushion shoe. The Pebax midsole has a real snap to it - it's not just soft, it actually moves with you. And the foot-shaped upper is something I always point out to customers who've had issues with toe box fit."" - Sawyer, Road Runner Sports Fit Expert, Wilmette ILWho It's Best ForIf you're a neutral runner with medium to high arches who logs consistent miles and wants a shoe that can handle daily training runs without feeling heavy or sluggish, the Specter 2 is a strong fit. It works especially well for runners who want max cushioning but don't want to give up responsiveness - and the lightweight build makes it a natural choice when you want to push the pace on a longer run.
