It diverts the bright flash and annoying concussion forward of the muzzle, creating a much more pleasant shooting environment for the operator and everyone around him. MUZZLE EXTENSIONOn Short-Barrels, the Dead Air Blast Shroud places the muzzle further away from the shooter’s support hand, thus reducing the chance of a hand covering the muzzle.
