There's a scene in Jack London's "To Build a Fire" where the protagonist spends his last match to start a small blaze that we, the reader, are supposed to recognize as his last hope for life. If the protagonist had simply worn a leather-brimmed Kromer to deflect the snowfall, he might have... well, you should read the story for yourselves. Like the original Kromer with a stylish, super-stout leather brim to divert sun or snow and get you safely home, regardless of circumstance.
