Product Description
"The 1873 ""Officer's Model"" was an attempt to market custom-made Trap Door Springfield rifles to soldiers in the field, presumably for sporting purposes. They were offered in virtually any configuration that could be made. Unfortunately for the gun company, soldiers didn't order many of them and less than 500 were made. H&R and Pedersoli both made reproductions of the originals. This H&R features all the fancy stuff that the originals offered including bright white silver finish on all the metal parts as well as high polish wood. It doesn't appear to have been fired much, if at all."
