But the cooling plates are reversed; thus the cooling function generates an electric field through the heating elements. The thinking inside the rotor has a heavy concentration of salts which dilutes the base further reducing the salts to a safe level. The bottom of the rotor has a sensor that detects any change in the level of the bath thus stopping any further damage to the lid. The electrodes are copper coated and the sensor is easily seen through the lid. When powered the light sensor should provide an accurate reading of the current level in the lab. The lid sensor should not be considered a "feature" of the unit; rather it provides valuable information regarding the temper of the shelf. The color change in the sensor is normal and does not affect the performance of the unit. Field replaceable sensor included.
