What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying: "I recently swapped this onto my XTR crankset and right away noticed the chain feel tighter and quieter over techy trail sections. The Dynamic Chain Engagement really works, especially when things get bumpy. It's super lightweight, and the 28t size pairs perfectly with my mid-cage derailleur and wide-range cassette."Whether we're grinding steep climbs or flowing through rooty descents, a reliable chainring is key to drivetrain performance. That's why we run the Shimano XTR SM-CRM96 Chainring. With its lightweight alloy construction and Dynamic Chain Engagement tech, it delivers superior chain retention, even when the trail throws its worst at us. Compatible with XTR cranks and available in 28-36 tooth sizes, this ring helps us dial in our gearing for any ride. The narrow-wide tooth profile grips the chain for a secure, noise-free experience-whether sprinting out of corners or spinning through a long day in the saddle.
