Faxon Firearms Match Series Gunner Barrel Features The Faxon Firearms Match Series Gunner profile barrel blends the durability of a Government contour with the reduced weight of a Pencil profile shifting the rifle s balance back toward the shooter s body to limit fatigue during long days of shooting training or hunting. Machined in-house in Cincinnati from 416-R stainless steel the barrel is fully stress relieved air-gauge tested and finished with an 11-degree target crown to ensure superior accuracy. The 1:5 twist rate and 5R button rifling are tuned specifically for .300 AAC Blackout stabilizing both lightweight supersonic loads and heavier subsonic projectiles from the same barrel. This versatility makes it a strong choice for shooters running suppressed setups as well as standard range ammunition. A black QPQ finish is applied inside and out for corrosion resistance and long-term durability under repeated firing. The pistol-length gas system is matched to the 7.5-inch barrel length for reliable cycling in a compact AR-15 pistol build and the 5/8x24 threaded muzzle accepts a suppressor or muzzle device. Every barrel is individually checked for headspace with precision PTG gauges before leaving the factory ensuring consistent quality across the line. For AR pistol builders looking for a short reliable .300 Blackout barrel this Gunner profile option delivers Faxon s full quality standard in a compact package.
