Product Description
E. Remington & Son Beals Patent Rifle, chambered in .38 Long Rimfire. Features include: 28 inch half round half octagon barrel, fixed sights, walnut stock with straight grip, lever action single shot. This rifle has a usual loading style where operating the lever pushes the barrel forward. There are estimated around 800 or so of these guns made and most were typically brass-framed. This example appears to be the harder to find iron-framed version. Bore has decent rifling. Stock appears to be in one piece with no cracks. Finish has turned to a brown patina. Top part of the crescent butt plate appears to have been ground down at some point. The folding rear sight appears to have been switched out for a pyramidal fixed sight. Remington Beals Patent info is stamped on the top of the barrel behind the rear sight.
