The RRS-9000117 Universal Leveling Base takes much of its design from the TA-2 and TA-U leveling bases, but incorporates several major improvements. The RRS-9000117’s height has been reduced by 30% for increased packability, and can move 33% further at 20 degrees to better accommodate use on steeper angles. The RRS-9000117’s ergonomics and usability have also been improved. It features a triple-lobe lock lever so the position of the thumb pads in relation to the legs remains constant no matter which leg faces you, as well as reducing the effort needed for lockup. The RRS-9000117 is also outfitted with a removable male mounting stud, allowing it to attach to any tripod platform with a male 3/8”-16 stud, a RRS Quick Column tube, or a Series 2 Versa Tripod SureGrip apex. In addition, the RRS-9000117 is equipped with the popular RRS SOAR dual style clamp with is compatible with the RRS 1.5” dovetail standard as well as Picatinny rails.
