The forward Controls Design ejection-port cover (EPC) is a precision engineered firearm enhancement that combines meticulous craftsmanship with user-focused design. Initially hesitant to develop an ejection-port cover, Forward Controls Design embraced the project after identifying desired features, turning it into a passion project. The EPC is crafted from high-strength 7075 aluminum, billet machined and finished with a hardcoat type III anodization for durability in demanding conditions. A key feature of the EPC is the inclusion of two strategically placed tabs flanking the port cover spring cutout. These tabs allow the cover to rest at a greater angle when open, providing more space between the port cover and the lower receiver for easier access. This design enables users to swing the cover up or close it effortlessly. Additionally, the EPC includes a shallow circular depression on its side, offering tactile feedback to the user's finger during operation. This textured area enhances grip and control, unlike flat surfaces that lack differentiation or traction, ensuring a seamless user experience.
