Ika Works ULTRA-TURRAX T 10 basic Disperser/Homogenizer IKA Works Stainless Steel Dispersing Elements. The TURRAX T-10 requires only a moderate amount of liquid for in situ cell disruption and homogenization. The unit is simple to use and requires only a power source air or gas to provide efficient mixing without splashing or acrid odors. It does not however require a pump as a venturi or a disassembled gasket will keep the valve open at all times. Its simple rotary action provides effective forces for breaking up large tissue sections. A powerful light micro-jet can also be generated from the tissue sample center by simply moving the tissue center toward or away from the blades. A turrax-type culture medium may then be introduced into the tissue culture vessel. Unlike most micro-disk homogenizers the ULTRATURRAX T-10 homogenizes tissue samples without inducing tissue damage. The TURRAX T-10 requires only a power source air or gas to operate. A t-handle stem with molded-in positioning pads provides ample space for the release of the sample. A molded-in lifting eye port makes sample introduction easier. A molded-in lifting eye guard protects the eye from the intense light rays while still permitting visualization of the specimen. Since the tissue sample does not fall out of solution significant loss of material is eliminated.
