"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I wear these on hikes when the weather can’t make up its mind. Being able to zip off the legs when it heats up is a lifesaver, and the fabric breathes really well even in full-length mode. They're also light enough to pack down small if I want to switch into trail shorts mid-hike.""When we’re hiking from chilly mornings to sun-baked switchbacks, the Basin Convertible Pant keeps us comfortable and ready for it all. Built for adaptability on the trail, these pants zip off at the knee to transform into 4-inch inseam shorts, letting us regulate our comfort without carrying a second pair. They're lightweight, breathable, and built with FLASHDRY™ tech to keep moisture in check as we gain elevation or pick up the pace. With a durable 94% recycled nylon body and a non-PFC DWR finish, the fabric resists light moisture and abrasion without feeling heavy. Thoughtful pocket placement includes two hand pockets and dual zippered thigh pockets for maps, snacks, or a phone. Mesh lining boosts breathability, and the regular fit moves naturally with us as we hike. Whether we're heading into the backcountry or exploring national parks, these convertibles are a pack-smart essential."
