"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I’ve taken these on muddy switchbacks and rocky ridge trails, and they just grip. The heel stability and GORE-TEX membrane keep my feet dry and dialed, no matter the terrain.""When the trail twists through slick mud, steep grades, and surprise storms, we count on the Skychaser AX5 GTX to carry us through. Crafted by Terrex for rugged performance, this low-profile hiker features a ripstop upper wrapped in a breathable yet waterproof GORE-TEX ePE membrane that shields against the elements without sacrificing comfort. Underfoot, the Continental rubber outsole keeps traction secure across varied terrain, while the Lightmotion midsole and Ortholite molded sockliner deliver cushion and rebound with every stride. The updated lug pattern grips trail surfaces with confidence, and a built-in heel step offers extra control when descending steep slopes. Whether we’re trekking through alpine passes or tackling forested switchbacks, this shoe brings reliable support and all-weather readiness."
