The Byrna Shield Bullet Resistant Backpack Body Armor is built around a Level IIIA ballistic rating capable of stopping up to 6 hits from .44 Magnum rounds traveling as fast as 1 464 feet per second. At just 7/16 of an inch thick and under 1 pound in weight the Shield is engineered to slip into a standard student backpack without adding noticeable bulk or weight to a child s daily load. Measuring 11 inches by 14 inches the panel is sized to cover critical areas while still fitting discreetly inside the backpack s main compartment. The soft armor plate design flexes with the pack rather than sitting rigid making it comfortable to carry day to day. This plate is designed to work as a stand-alone protective layer or in combination with a hard plate for situations demanding additional protection. Finished in Black the Shield blends into most backpack interiors without drawing attention to its presence. Byrna built this product around the idea that meaningful protection should be accessible priced for the cost of a pair of sneakers rather than a specialized safety product. For parents looking for peace of mind without disrupting their child s daily routine the Byrna Shield offers a practical easy-to-use layer of protection.
