The Hornady Precision Hunter 280 Rem 150 Gr Extremely Low Drag-eXpanding (ELD-X) ammunition is designed for hunters seeking superior accuracy and terminal performance. Featuring Hornady's heat shield tip this projectile resists aerodynamic heating and maintains its shape ensuring a high ballistic coefficient throughout its trajectory. The bullet's streamlined secant ogive profile optimum boattail design and highly concentric AMP bullet jackets contribute to exceptional aerodynamic efficiency. On high-velocity impacts within 0-400 yards the ELD-X bullet provides consistent expansion along its penetration path. The thick shank of the jacket and the high interlock ring secure the core and jacket together ensuring 50-60% weight retention. For low-velocity impacts beyond 400 yards the heat shield tip drives backward into the bullet initiating controlled expansion. This results in deep penetration large cavities and a mushroomed shape with 85-90% retained weight. Packaged in brass casings this ammunition is available in 20 rounds per box and is ideal for hunting applications.
