Magnum Mark V actions use a nine-lug bolt and the lightweight actions a six-lug bolt. The low-profile lugs are what allow the short 54 degree bolt lift, which speeds up follow-up shots and keeps your hand clear of the scope. The enclosed bolt sleeve and the gas ports in the bolt body are there to direct gas away from the shooter in the rare event of a case failure. Weatherby backs its current Mark V rifles with its sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.About the 22-250 RemThe 22-250 Rem is a proven hunting and target cartridge with wide factory ammunition availability. In this rifle it gives you a practical, accurate option for the game and distances the cartridge is suited to, and you can find factory loads for it at nearly any sporting goods counter.Care and Setup TipsWeatherby rifles are made to be carried and shot in real hunting conditions. Before your season, mount a quality scope in solid rings and bases, zero at the distance you expect to shoot, and confirm your point of impact with the exact factory load you plan to hunt with. Practice from field positions such as sitting, kneeling and off shooting sticks, not just the bench, so that the rifle's accuracy carries over to the shot that counts.Clean the bore after each range session or wet hunt, keep a light coat of oil on exposed metal, and store the rifle in a dry place. Check action screws and scope mounts before every season, since a loose screw is one of the most common causes of a wandering zero. With basic care, a Weatherby rifle will give generations of reliable service.Choosing AmmunitionWeatherby recommends Weatherby factory or premium ammunition for best accuracy. For hunting, pick a bullet built for the size of the game and the distances you expect: controlled-expansion and bonded bullets for large or tough game, and lighter, faster expanding bullets for smaller game and varmints. Whatever you choose, zero with that exact load and stay with it through the season, since changing loads can move your point of impact.About WeatherbyRoy Weatherby founded Weatherby in 1945 in Southern California, building rifles and cartridges around the idea that high velocity gives a flatter trajectory and better terminal performance on game. The company moved its headquarters and manufacturing to Sheridan, Wyoming, in 2019, where it designs and builds its rifles today, while its shotguns are produced by partner factories to Weatherby specifications. Is It Right for You?Browse more Weatherby firearms and ammunition or compare other bolt action rifles.Product SpecificationsManufacturer: WeatherbyModel: Mark V Deluxe VarmintmasterPart Number: MDX01N222RR4TUPC: 747115459537Caliber: 22-250 RemAction: Bolt ActionCapacity: 3+1Barrel Length: 24 in.Twist Rate: 1:8Barrel Contour: #1Muzzle Thread: 1/2-28Length of Pull: 13.5 inDrop at Comb: .875 inDrop at Heel: 1.625 inOverall Length: 43.5 inWeight: 6.8 lbHand: Right HandFrequently Asked QuestionsWhat is the capacity?3+1, per Weatherby. What is the barrel length?24 inches. What is the twist rate?1:8.Is the barrel threaded?Yes, 1/2-28.Does it come with a scope or sights? No scope is included.
