Orion over/unders use a single selective trigger and interchangeable choke tubes, so you can tailor the pattern from close upland cover to longer pass shooting. They balance between the hands the way a quality double should, which helps you mount, swing and follow through smoothly.12 Gauge ChamberingThe 12 Gauge is chambered for shells up to the length listed in the specifications below. Shorter shells of the same gauge also fit and cycle normally. Choose shot size and choke to match the game: smaller shot and open chokes for close-flushing upland birds and clays, larger shot and tighter chokes for waterfowl and turkey at longer range.Care and Setup TipsBefore the season, pattern the shotgun with the loads and chokes you intend to hunt with. Shoot at a large sheet of paper at 30 to 40 yards and check where the center of the pattern lands and how evenly the pellets spread. That tells you which choke and load combination works best and whether the gun shoots where you look.Clean the bore and chokes after each outing, especially after waterfowl hunts in wet or salty conditions, and put a drop of choke tube lube on the threads so the tubes come out easily. Keep the action and stock dry, and store the gun in a dry place. A well kept Weatherby shotgun will last for many seasons.Choosing AmmunitionUse only shells of the correct gauge and a length no longer than the chamber listed in the specifications. Steel and other non-toxic shot is required for waterfowl, so check that your choke tubes are rated for the shot type you use. Heavier loads give more reach on large birds, while lighter loads are more pleasant for clays and upland hunting.About WeatherbyRoy Weatherby founded Weatherby in 1945 in Southern California, building rifles and cartridges around the idea that high velocity gives a flatter trajectory and better terminal performance on game. The company moved its headquarters and manufacturing to Sheridan, Wyoming, in 2019, where it designs and builds its rifles today, while its shotguns are produced by partner factories to Weatherby specifications.Ordering and ShippingFirearms purchased online must be transferred through a federally licensed dealer.
