Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm 4.25 Black w/ Aimpoint COA Pistol The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 4.25 COA (PH9117COA) arrives with an Aimpoint COA red dot already installed on a factory Aimpoint A-CUT slide. You get a double-stack 9mm 1911 with an 18+1 capacity and a premium closed-emitter optic, ready for zeroing out of the box. Optic included: the Aimpoint COA closed-emitter red dot comes pre-installed. A-CUT direct mount: the slide is milled for the Aimpoint A-CUT interface, so there is no adapter plate and the optic sits low. 18+1 capacity: two 18-round Mec-Gar magazines are included. Carry-friendly length: the 4.25 bull barrel keeps it at 7.8 overall and 32.5 oz. Double-Stack 1911 With a Factory Aimpoint Optic The Prodigy takes the 1911 trigger and controls you know and builds them around a double-stack magazine. A polymer grip module mounts to a forged carbon steel frame, and the frame carries an ambidextrous thumb safety and an integrated Picatinny rail. The forged slide and frame wear a black Cerakote finish, and the 4.25 forged stainless steel match-grade bull barrel has a 1:16 twist. COA stands for the Aimpoint COA optic, not a compensator. Springfield mills this slide for the Aimpoint A-CUT interface, a full-length dovetail with a front hook and rear wedge that holds the sight. The wedge-lock design takes lateral force off the screws for solid zero retention, and the low mount lets you co-witness the black front and rear iron sights. The optic is the Aimpoint COA, a closed-emitter red dot with a 3.5 MOA dot, 7075-T6 aluminum housing, 15x15mm lens, more than five years of rated runtime on one CR2032, and submersion rating to 25 meters. For anyone who wants a carry-size Prodigy with a duty-grade red dot already fitted, this model saves the work of buying and mounting an optic separately. Order yours from BattleHawk Armory and have it shipped to your local FFL.
