Get your Henry Silver Boy .17 Lever Action rifle from BattleHawk Armory today! Plating in firearms began as a method of corrosion-proofing at least 150 years ago during the era of black powder ammunition, which was highly corrosive. Working guns faced tough conditions, making corrosion protection essential. Over time, plating evolved to include decorative purposes, with precious metals being used to create elaborately embellished special-order guns. Nickel plating was the first significant advancement in electro-plating, and it remains popular due to its long-lasting wear resistance and tarnish-resistant finish. Nickel-plated firearms stand out visually and are durable. Golden Boy Silver Features The Golden Boy Silver lever-action rifles are designed to be both functional and visually appealing.
