Ammunition costs a fraction of what firearm ammunition does, and you can often train at home or in the backyard where local rules allow.Key FeaturesThe sharp-shooting P-25 Blowback is a .177 caliber CO2 Blowback Action pistol.CAUTION: Use only flat head or low dome pellets (like the GAMO Match or the Hunter pellets) to avoid damaging your magazine. Do NOT use pellets like the Red Fire, PBA Bullet, Magnum, Master Point, Lethal or TS-10.How the Powerplant WorksCO2 powerplants use compressed carbon dioxide stored in a cartridge or cylinder. Each shot releases a small amount of gas, so there is no cocking or pumping effort between shots. CO2 pressure falls as temperature drops, so velocity and shot count are usually highest in mild weather; let the gun and cartridges warm to room temperature before a session.About the CaliberThe .177 caliber (4.5 mm) is the most common airgun caliber. Its light, fast projectiles shoot flat, which makes it a favorite for target shooting, plinking and small pests at modest ranges.Specifications ExplainedGamo rates velocity at 450 feet per second (fps) with PBA Platinum. Published velocity is measured with the ammunition type the manufacturer lists; heavier pellets will shoot slower but often carry more energy. For capacity and feeding, Gamo lists: 16 Pellets Double Magazine (8x2).The barrel is listed as Rifled metal barrel. A rifled barrel spins the pellet for accuracy. For aiming, the manufacturer lists Fixed sights with reflective white dots. Check the rail type before buying rings or a dot sight. The safety is listed as Manual. Learn how it works from the owner's manual before loading.Getting Started and CareBefore the first session, read the owner's manual, check that the gun is unloaded, and set up a safe backstop or pellet trap. Shoot from a rest to confirm where the gun hits at your usual distance, then adjust the sights or scope.Try several brands and weights of quality .177 pellets of the type the manufacturer lists. Airguns often prefer one pellet over another, and finding it is the quickest way to tighter groups.Insert a fresh cartridge only when the gun is uncocked and the safety is on, follow the manufacturer's piercing and removal steps, and never leave a pierced cartridge in the gun for long periods. A drop of CO2-specific lubricant on the tip of each new cartridge helps keep the seals in good condition. What You Will Want With ItEye protection for the shooter and anyone nearbyA pellet or BB trap rated for the gun's power, or a safe backstopPaper targets or reactive targetsSpare CO2 of the size the manufacturer listsSafety and Local LawsTreat every airgun as if it were loaded, keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, and keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot.
