Diamondback Sidekick, 22 LR/22 Mag, 5.5 Barrel, 9 Round, Black Cerakote, RevolverThe Diamondback Sidekick is a 9-shot rimfire revolver that pairs classic western lines with a modern swing-out cylinder and two interchangeable cylinders, one for 22 LR and one for 22 Magnum. This configuration, Diamondback model DB053CA001, has a 5.5-inch tapered barrel and a Black Cerakote finish on the frame and handle, so you get a longer sight radius and a little more velocity than the 4.5-inch Sidekick in one versatile handgun. Both 9-round cylinders come in the box. Run inexpensive 22 LR for practice and plinking, then swap to 22 Mag when you want more energy for small game or pest control. Diamondback builds the Sidekick at its facility in Cocoa, Florida.Order the Diamondback Sidekick 5.5-inch from BattleHawk Armory and get two calibers in one dependable revolver. Two Calibers, Two 9-Shot CylindersThe Sidekick's headline feature is its convertible design. Each cylinder holds nine rounds, which is more than most traditional six-shot rimfire revolvers, so you spend more time shooting and less time reloading. Changing calibers takes seconds: swing the cylinder out, lift it off, and fit the other one. That flexibility lets one handgun cover a wide range of jobs. 22 LR is quiet, mild and affordable, ideal for new shooters and long range sessions. 22 Magnum adds noticeably more velocity and energy, which is useful for varmints, snakes on the trail and small game at practical distances.Swing-Out Cylinder with Full EjectionMany western-style rimfire revolvers load one chamber at a time through a loading gate. The Sidekick uses a swing-out cylinder instead, which gives you fast access to all nine chambers. A full-length ejector rod pushes all nine empty cases out at once, so reloading is quick even with gloves on or in the field. For anyone who has spent time punching out rimfire cases one by one, this is a real convenience.Single Action or Double Action TriggerYou can fire the Sidekick double action for quick follow-up shots or cock the exposed hammer for a light single-action press when you want precision. Diamondback lists the single-action pull at about 2 pounds and the double-action pull at about 16 pounds. The light single-action break helps new shooters learn trigger control and makes it easier to place careful shots on small targets, while double action is ready whenever you need speed. A hammer safety is part of the design.5.5-Inch Tapered BarrelThe 5.5-inch tapered barrel has 6 grooves and a 1:16 right-hand twist. Compared with shorter models, the longer barrel adds sight radius between the blade front sight and the integral rear sight, which helps you hold tighter groups at the range. It also gives 22 Magnum a bit more barrel to build velocity. The tapered profile keeps the revolver balanced and pointing naturally despite the extra length.Zinc Alloy Frame, Black Cerakote and Checkered GripsThe frame and handle are zinc alloy finished in Black Cerakote, a durable ceramic-based coating that resists wear and corrosion. Checkered glass-filled nylon grips give a secure hold, and the overall weight of 32.8 ounces helps soak up the already light recoil. Diamondback notes that because the Sidekick uses low-melting-point materials such as zinc alloy, it cannot accept these revolvers for warranty repair from Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota or New York City, so check your local rules before you buy.Who the Sidekick Is ForThe Sidekick is a natural first handgun, an easy-shooting revolver for family range days, a trail and tackle-box companion, and a practical tool around the farm or ranch. With its budget-friendly price, nine-round capacity and dual calibers, it is also a fun addition for experienced shooters who simply enjoy rimfire revolvers. Always confirm which cylinder is installed before loading.
