The CZ Bren 2 MS is a lightweight, modular 5.56 NATO pistol designed around a trimmed-down aluminum receiver and carbon fiber-reinforced polymer lower. This combination creates a robust platform while reducing overall weight, making the Bren 2 MS well suited to users looking for a compact and adaptable modern sporting platform. The Bren 2 MS features a non-reciprocating, ambidextrous charging handle that remains stowed in the forward position until needed and can also function as a forward assist. Ambidextrous controls include the magazine release and safety, while the AR-style bolt catch and release can be operated from both sides of the firearm. An additional bolt catch/release is positioned at the front of the trigger guard for convenient manipulation. In pistol configuration, the Bren 2 MS uses a flush rear plate with provisions for an AR-style buffer tube, allowing compatibility with accessories such as arm braces or cheek rests where legally applicable. The platform uses AR-15 style magazines for its 5.56 NATO configuration and features a modular forend and interchangeable barrel and caliber configurations.
