The Canik TP9DA is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm pistol that stands out by featuring a Double-Action / Single-Action (DA/SA) trigger system paired with a top-mounted slide decocker. Unlike most striker-fired handguns that are single-action only, racking the slide on the TP9DA puts the pistol into a light single-action mode. Pressing the top decocker safely drops the striker into double-action mode, creating a longer, heavier first trigger pull for safer carry without needing a manual safety toggle.
