Key Features of the Mark IIAmbidextrous Safety: The Mk II replaced the tiny, single-sided safety of the classic Hi-Power with an extended, ambidextrous thumb safety. This significantly improved handling for left-handed shooters and allowed for easier "cocked and locked" tactical carry.Straight Throated Feed Ramp: Original Hi-Powers were notorious for only feeding full metal jacket (FMJ) "ball" ammunition reliably. The Mk II introduced a straight, throated feed ramp that successfully accommodates modern hollow-point self-defense rounds. The Slide Rib & Sights: You can instantly recognize a Mark II by the raised, thin metal rib running the full length of the top of the slide. The front sight is machined directly into this rib, and it aligns with a larger, easier-to-see dovetailed rear sight.Muzzle Drain Hole: A small, unique hole was drilled into the front of the slide just beneath the muzzle. This military-derived design feature was built to let water drain instantly out of the action if the pistol was completely submerged.Matte Tactical Finishes: Moving away from high-gloss commercial bluing, the Mk II came in durable utility finishes including a matte black epoxy, dark gray, or an olive-green Parkerizing. It also replaced traditional walnut grips with checkered black nylon synthetic grips featuring molded thumb rests.
