What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I took the Alpenglow Hooded Shirt on a full day at a desert crag in July and wore it straight through without a second thought. The BD. cool technology actually made a noticeable difference in how the shirt felt against my skin in direct sun, and I got back to the car at the end of the day without the usual funk that builds up after hours of climbing in the heat. The under-the-helmet hood fit cleanly over my helmet on the approach and never bunched up or got in the way on route."The sun is out, the route is long, and sunscreen alone is not going to get you through the day. The Black Diamond Alpenglow Hooded Shirt was built for exactly those conditions, the exposed ridge walks, the all-day cragging sessions, the summit approaches where shade is a distant memory, and you are just trying to keep your core temperature in check. The stretch textured knit fabric moves with you without restriction, and the underarm gussets open up your reach on technical terrain without the shirt pulling or binding across the back. What makes the Alpenglow genuinely different is the BD. cool mineral-based in-fiber cooling technology, which reflects 71% of near-infrared rays to actively reduce the perceived temperature while you wear it, working alongside UPF 40+ protection to keep the sun's energy from becoming your problem. Polygiene odor control is embedded directly into the fabric and inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria, so the shirt stays fresh across multiple days of hard use without needing to be washed after every outing. The under-the-helmet hood adds coverage on exposed terrain and sits cleanly under a climbing helmet without bunching, making this a shirt that works as hard on the approach as it does on the route.
