What Our Gearhead(R) Experts Are Saying:"I took the Terrex Freehiker 3 Mid GTX Hiking Boot out on a mixed terrain day where the morning started dry, and things got wet fast. The Continental outsole never let me second-guess a step on slick rock, and the GORE-TEX kept my feet completely dry without that trapped, clammy feeling you get from lesser membranes. For a boot this light, it punches well above its weight on technical ground."Some trails demand a boot that can think on its feet. The adidas Terrex Freehiker 3 Mid GTX Hiking Boot was designed for exactly that kind of day, the one where the terrain shifts constantly and the only thing you want to think about is what is around the next bend. Its running shoe roots show up immediately underfoot, where the Hyperboost Pro midsole and Dreamstrike+ cushioning turn steep descents and long climbs into something your legs can actually sustain. Above the midsole, a lightweight ripstop upper keeps unnecessary weight off your feet while lighter reinforcement overlays protect the areas that take the most abuse. GORE-TEX waterproofing handles stream crossings and surprise rain without stiffening the overall feel, and the 360 lining wraps the foot in consistent comfort from the first lace-up. The Continental rubber outsole grips with the kind of confidence that lets you stop thinking about footing and start thinking about distance, which is exactly where your head should be on a great day out.
