"What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:""I mounted the Fritschi Xenic 7 Bindings on my touring skis for a season of dawn patrols, and the step-in was so easy I never fumbled clicking in with cold hands. On the way down, the broad heel support gave me control I didn't expect from something this light. They've become my go-to setup for long days when every gram in the pack matters.""Black Diamond built the Fritschi Xenic 7 Bindings for the skin track before sunrise, when the only sound is breath and skins gliding uphill toward a summit still lit by headlamp. We click in fast, settle into an easy rhythm, and let the miles stack up without ever feeling the weight underfoot. The horizontally moving pin levers hold firm through icy traverses and steep kick turns, while the broad step-in pedal means we're locked in and moving again within seconds, even with numb fingers. Ten millimeters of length compensation keeps the release honest on the way down, and the broad heel support turns a light setup into one we can actually push hard on descent."
