Housing is a structural part of the generator containing one of the armature bearings Controls voltage and limits current Current limiting circuit senses armature temperature and limits the current in an inverse proportion Temperature goes up, amps go down giving you more amps after a cold start to recharge your batter faster, yet protect against overheating Replacement regulator for Cycle Electric 12V Generator with Regulator 381-340
