The Salomon RS 8 Skate Ski Package pairs the RS8 Prolink boot with a ski built around the same binding family, so a skier stepping up from rental gear gets a matched setup without guessing at compatibility. The boot's Energyzer 2. 0 cuff adds rearward support that keeps the ankle steady late into a session, while the low-profile Prolink Racing Skate sole sits close enough to the ski to feel what the edge is doing underfoot. A Stringer Core and G5 World Cup base keep the ski itself light and fast across changing snow, so the whole setup holds together whether the effort is a steady lap or a harder push. What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"I felt the cuff support the most about forty minutes into a long V2 session, my ankles usually start folding by then, and these just didn't let it happen. Clicking back in after a water break took a second, so I never lost the rhythm I'd built up."
