What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying"The Fiction is one of those boards that just makes you want to ride more. The Banana Hybrid contour keeps it playful and forgiving — you're not fighting the board, you're just having fun. I'd put a newer rider on this and watch their confidence take off, but it's soft enough that even intermediate riders will find it rewarding. Magne-Traction is a nice touch for a board at this price point."Who It's ForBeginner to Intermediate Freestyle and All-Mountain RidersThe Fiction is built for riders who are building their skills and want a board that makes learning feel natural. Its approachable flex and directional twin shape suit beginners working on their fundamentals and intermediates chasing freestyle progression on the full mountain. It's forgiving enough to build confidence and versatile enough to grow into. What It's ForResort Terrain and Freestyle ProgressionThe Fiction handles groomed runs, park features, and everyday resort terrain with ease. The Original Banana Contour Hybrid profile keeps the ride catch-free and playful, making it a strong choice for riders who want to explore the whole mountain without getting tripped up by their equipment. Why We Like ItCatch-Free Contour with Everyday VersatilityThe Fiction runs a G Lite 1 FSC Certified Aspen and Paulownia core that keeps it light and lively underfoot. The Original Banana Contour Hybrid is GNU's most forgiving profile — designed specifically as the best contour to learn on — while Magne-Traction serrated edges add predictable edge control that a softer board at this price point doesn't always deliver. The eco knife-cut Co-Ex base is fast and holds wax well, and Tri-Ax/Bi-Ax glassing rounds out a construction that punches above its price.
