What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "I like this combo for anglers who want technique-focused performance without piecing everything together separately. The SCII blank feels crisp and sensitive, and the FRS build gives it durability over a full season of hard fishing. The Seviin reel casts smoothly and feels solid in hand. Whether you’re throwing reaction baits or flipping heavy cover, these models cover key bass techniques well." When the bite is on and precision matters, we want a setup that responds instantly. The St. Croix GXR Bass Casting Combo—developed in collaboration with Seviin—delivers technique-specific performance for everything from reaction baits to frog and flipping applications. Built around a lightweight SCII carbon fiber blank, each rod is reinforced with St. Croix’s Fortified Resin System (FRS) to maintain fiber alignment and prevent micro-buckling, ensuring lasting strength and sensitivity. Stainless-steel guide frames with aluminum oxide rings promote smooth line flow, while the split-grip premium cork handle enhances comfort and balance. Paired with a Seviin casting reel featuring a graphite body, aluminum spool, steel main shaft, and 6+1 bearing system, this combo provides smooth retrieves and reliable durability. Designed for anglers of all skill levels, the GXR Bass Casting Combo brings refined performance and versatility to the water at an accessible price point.
