What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:"The VersaPad Crash Pad is the pad I always wished I had when my main pad wasn't quite reaching the edges of the landing zone. The high-vis grab handles make it easy to reposition mid-session without breaking focus, and at five pounds, it barely registers on the hike in. It earns its keep on sit starts too — just enough cushion to take the edge off without adding bulk."A single crash pad almost covers the landing. Almost. The Asana VersaPad Crash Pad exists for that gap — the awkward two feet of rock and roots between your main pad and the next one over, the sit start that needs a little something underfoot, the unexpected heel hook pop that sends you sideways into territory your setup didn't quite reach. Thin, light, and easy to reposition on the fly, the VersaPad is the auxiliary pad that rounds out a complete landing zone. At 74 by 44 inches open and just three-quarters of an inch of closed-cell foam, it moves fast. Two high-visibility grab handles let spotters drag it into position without taking their eyes off the climber, and the whole thing folds to a compact 36 by 22 inches when it's time to hike to the next boulder. When the send finally goes down and the energy drops, fold it in half, and it becomes a sleeping pad — just enough cushion to close your eyes and reset before the next problem calls.
