What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying: "This is my favorite layer for sunny alpine climbs and desert missions. It’s super light, breathes better than anything else I own, and gives just enough coverage without making me overheat. The hood fits great under a helmet too."Built for full days in the sun and fast-moving alpine objectives, the Outdoor Research Astroman Air Sun Hoodie delivers breathable comfort, lightweight mobility, and essential sun protection. Designed with input from professional climbers, it’s made for routes, trails, and scrambles where weight and freedom of movement matter. The stretch-woven fabric enhances airflow and offers UPF 30 protection to shield against intense exposure. A helmet-compatible hood adds streamlined coverage, and the quick-drying materials keep us comfortable when we’re pushing hard. Whether we're linking ridges or chasing afternoon summits, the Astroman Air keeps the focus on the adventure, not the gear.
