"The Savage Axis chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 22-inch barrel is one of the most popular, cost-effective bolt-action hunting and precision target rifles in modern history. Originally introduced as the ""Edge"" before being rebranded, the Axis series was designed by Savage Arms to deliver modern out-of-the-box accuracy in an affordable, lightweight package. Chambering the ultra-efficient 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge in a standard 22-inch barrel provides an excellent ballistic balance. This configuration achieves high velocity and flat trajectories while keeping the rifle light and nimble for long treks in the field."
