"The Marlin Model 336SC (Sporting Carbine) chambered in the devastating, brush-busting .35 Remington is an exceptionally desirable piece of American firearms history, serving as a standout example from Marlin's classic mid-century manufacturing era. Produced in 1957-1958as verified by its vintage ""R"" serial number prefixthe Sporting Carbine variant is highly sought after for its unique and sleek aesthetic. Setting it apart from standard regular carbines is its 20-inch barrel paired beautifully with a distinctive two-thirds length tubular magazine, which leaves the forward portion of the barrel uncluttered and delivers superb, nose-up balance in the hands. This specimen features a traditional, robust pistol grip walnut stock and includes original, factory-installed swivel studs ready for a classic leather sling. Adding immense value for advanced collectors, it features the factory-original ""JM"" proof stamp positioned on the right side of the barrel rather than the standard left-side placementa period-correct stamping variation highly scrutinized and prized by Marlin aficionados. Built long before the introduction of crossbolt safeties, this early-production Sporting Carbine is a premier find for the deep-woods hunter who values the authority of the .35 Remington cartridge or the collector seeking an investment-grade classic."
