Taylors and Co Frontier Features The Taylors and Co Frontier is built around a flintlock ignition system that faithfully recreates the shooting experience of the original American long rifles from the golden age of the flintlock era. Its 39 inch browned octagon barrel is rifled with 8 grooves at a 1 in 48 inch twist giving the .50 Caliber round ball the spin needed for accurate consistent shots at traditional muzzleloader hunting ranges. The browned steel finish on the barrel reduces glare in the field while staying true to the look of period correct rifles. All of the metal parts and the stock are left exposed in their traditional working form revealing the construction methods used on genuine squirrel rifles of this period. Stocked in select American maple the Frontier carries a traditional patch-box inlet into the stock for storing patches flints or small tools needed in the field. The adjustable double set trigger lets the shooter choose between a standard pull and a lightened hair trigger release for more precise shot placement. Brass furniture on the trigger guard and butt plate complements the color case hardened lock and fittings giving the rifle a warm traditional appearance that only improves with age and handling. At 7.71 lbs with a right hand action this rifle suits traditional black powder hunters and historical shooting enthusiasts who want an authentic single shot flintlock built on a proven original design.
