Spyderco Profile Stone Medium Features The Spyderco Profile Stone Medium is made from white alumina ceramic at approximately 600 grit a composition that removes steel relatively quickly while still producing a clean functional utility edge suitable for most everyday cutting tasks. Its design incorporates multiple abrasive surfaces and shapes allowing it to efficiently sharpen knives with a wide variety of blade profiles including both plain and serrated edges. Carefully radiused convex surfaces on the stone are also useful for sharpening gouges and other woodworking tools extending its usefulness beyond knives alone. Longitudinal grooves built into the stone make quick work of sharpening awls scribes and other pointed tools that are difficult to maintain with a flat stone. Unlike many sharpening stones the advanced ceramic abrasive used in the Profile Stone Medium does not require any oil or water during use simplifying the sharpening process and reducing mess. At 8 inches long the stone offers enough length to comfortably sharpen full size blades while remaining compact enough to carry in a pack or tool kit. A protective suede pouch is included which not only shields the ceramic stone during transport but also serves as a non-slip pad while sharpening. Finished in brown the Spyderco Profile Stone Medium is a practical durable sharpening tool suited to knives tools and outdoor gear alike.
